About the role

We require a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join the Joelec team as an trainee electrician. Prior experience within the electrical industry is not required as a trainee electrician. The role involves full scope electrical works in domestic, commercial and industrial settings. No two days are ever the same.

​

On a day to day basis you will be required to install, repair and maintain electrical installations within our scope, whilst under the supervision of a qualified supervisor. The role is subject to a probationary period where you will be required to demonstrate the enthusiasm and dedication required to gain a level two qualification.

Upon successful completion of the probationary period you will begin to work towards your 2365-02 with one of our accredited partners where you will spend two weeks in the classroom learning the theory behind electrical principles, before working within the Joelec team for two weeks to gain invaluable hands on experience and put what you have learnt in the classroom into practice. This two week classroom, two week on site rota pattern will continue for the duration of your 2365-02 training period.

Once you have successfully completed your 2365-02 qualification, your basic salary will rise to £20,592 - £32,592 per annum OTE. You will receive 28 days annual leave entitlement, raising to 30 days after five years service and 32 days after ten years service. You will receive OTE and this will be paid quarterly.

Person Spec

You will need a dedicated and enthusiastic attitude towards learning the key new skills you will use in your role. You will also need:

  • Grades  9 - 4 (A* - C) in GCSE Mathematics, English and Science 

  • Current full UK driving license (with a maximum of six points)

  • Flexible and motivated, you'll be keen to embrace the company culture and values, and be willing to occasionally stay away from home

  • Must be willing to travel to any UK site requested by the company using your own vehicle (mileage between multiple sites or sites outside of the Joelec standard service area boundary will be reimbursed in accordance with the relevant company policy)

  • Ability to work as part of a team or on your own

  • Be health and safety aware, adhering to company procedures and acting within the boundaries of health and safety legislation at all times
